長沙灣潤發大廈13時49分發生火警，現場為發祥街1號潤發倉庫，火警導致黑煙彌漫，消防於14時10分將火升為三級，逾10輛消防車到場，事件中有兩名傷者其中一人為保安人員，手部受傷送往明愛醫院，另一人為學校校工吸入燶煙不息。

火警中一共3400人要疏散，包括附近四間學校多名師生，以及毗鄰凱德苑全幢大廈的住戶需要疏散至社區中心暫避。消防處說，如果市民受到隨風飄散的煙霧和異味影響，可關閉門窗及保持鎮定。

另外，因應長沙灣發祥街三級火警，深水埗民政事務處（民政處）已開放深水埗體育館（深水埗康樂文化大樓二樓）作臨時庇護中心，予有需要的市民使用。

A fire broke out on the second floor of the Yuen Fat Wharf and Godown building, causing thick smoke to billow out. The fire was raised to a third alarm by the Fire Services Department at 2:10 pm. More than 10 fire engines were sent to the scene. Two people were injured in the incident. One was a security guard who sustained hand injuries and was sent to Caritas Medical Centre, while the other was a school janitor who suffered from continuous smoke inhalation.

A total of 3,400 people were evacuated, including students and teachers from four nearby schools, as well as residents of the entire Kadoorie Estate building, who were evacuated to a temporary shelter at a nearby community centre.
