［8 Mar 2026］ Financial Secretary hails LIV Golf Hong Kong 2026 as showcase of city’s vitality and global appeal
After attending the LIV Golf 2026 Hong Kong tournament today (March 8), Financial Secretary Paul Chan told reporters he was delighted to join the event, noting that this year’s edition has drawn 57 renowned golfers from 16 countries and regions, as well as some 14,000 overseas spectators. He pointed out that, with backing from the “M” Mark scheme, this is the third consecutive year Hong Kong has hosted the tournament, and said the Fanling venue is not only a beautiful course but also a site of considerable historical significance.
Mr Chan added that, together with Hong Kong’s many other attractions, he is confident both players and visitors will leave with memorable experiences of the city. He stressed that the Government is making a concerted effort to stage a wide range of cultural, sports and other major events to draw more international visitors, so they can experience Hong Kong’s vitality and vibrancy first-hand and see for themselves what the city has to offer. Looking ahead, he said a full calendar of events is lined up in the coming weeks and throughout the year, and encouraged people to stay tuned, take part in these activities and enjoy what Hong Kong has in store.
